Camping CookwareSometimes, you just don’t have the correct camping cookware If you’ve ever cooked over an open fire, then you know that pots and pans can get a little burnt. It is for this reason that you shouldn’t bring your cookware from home to use as your camping cookware. There are a lot of choices when choosing the right camping cookware for you. ![]() Custom Search
When I was in scouts, we all had our own mess kit. This is basic camping cookware at its MOST basic. It is a collapsible frying pan with handle, pot, lid, plate/pan and a cup. It all folds up very neatly and we would carry it around in a mesh bag that had a draw string. The mesh bag would be where we placed our cleaned off mess kit items and then we would dunk them in boiling water to sanitize them. Then hang the bag on a tree limb so the items could air dry. It was more exciting than it sounds, but isn’t everything when you are a child? The best part about meal time was not so much the mess kits as our own personal camping cookware, but it was the time we shared and the fun we had together. I don’t know about your family, but my family always seems to be going someplace. Seems like the only time we sit down together for a meal is when we’re in the car. While camping, preparing and cooking the meal together can be a very enjoyable experience no matter what kind of camping cookware you have.
